Faculty who attended the pre-term workshop on Universal Design for Learning (UDL) meet every 3-4 weeks throughout the term as a Community of Practice. The purpose of the UDL Community of Practice is:
- To continue building our understanding of the UDL framework
- To share resources, problem-solve, and reflect on our application of the UDL framework
- To address questions that arise from applying the UDL framework to our teaching
The foundational principles for a community of practice are: envision, design, facilitate, evaluate, and sustain. The participants are equally responsible for bringing new ideas to the group, offering feedback to one another, running the meetings, reflecting on the efficacy of the work, and ensuring a sustainable model for continuous growth.
