I-Share & Interlibrary Loan

How to request books, journals and other materials that aren't available at the Marshall Brooks Library

I-Share versus Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

I-Share

Interlibrary Loan

What is it?
I-Share allows Principia College students and faculty to borrow books and multimedia items from 88 other academic and research libraries in our consortium. Items are delivered to the Marshall Brooks Library Monday-Friday. Items can also be checked out in-person at I-Share libraries with your Principia ID.

What is it?
Principia College shares items with libraries across the United States of America and Canada. If an item is not available through I-Share or in the Marshall Brooks library, it may be available through interlibrary loan.

How does it work?
Use Library Search @ Prin or All I-Share Libraries search to find the item you are looking for then sign in with your Principia Login. For more specifics, see the detailed instructions on Request Items Through I-Share webpage.

How does it work?
You can request books or articles through filled out the Library's interlibrary loan form, directly in ProQuest or EbscoHost, or through WorldCat.org. Not all items are available through interlibrary loan such as textbooks, recently published items, and rare materials.

Who do I ask for help?
If you want help with searching for an item, a library staff member is happy to help. If you can questions about lost book fees, renewing, or where is your requested item, contact Mark Geis at 618.374.5073.
