Focus Questions

Focus Questions from Model UN's Topic Guide: 

  1. Does your Member State support any specific factions or governments that are involved in any sort of conflict?
  2. What decisions would your Member State support as a solution for resolving any of the discussed conflicts? What conflicts has your Member State helped negotiate or helped in the negotiation processes of conflicts?
  3. Is your Member State involved in conflict with another Member State? What actions would resolve this issue? What concessions would you be willing to make to negotiate a successful peace process?
  4. How is your Member State affected by the situation? How are Member States from other regions of the world impacted by peace and security in Africa? 
  5. How can regional organizations and multilateral agreements help in the achievement of a peaceful and secure Africa? Are there ongoing partnerships that can be bolstered, if so, how?
