Instructions: Popular or Scholarly?

1. Review the graphic describing popular and scholarly sources.
2. In groups, explore the items on your table. Use the six factors from the graphic to determine how scholarly or popular each item is.
3. Place your items on the scale at the front of the classroom.
   • Far left = popular items
   • Far right = scholarly items
4. Prepare to share with the group one item that was obvious and one item that required discussion.
