What is OpenAthens?
OpenAthens is an identity and IP-based authentication system that provides access to the library's licensed online resources via single sign-on (SSO) technology. It is replaced our previous system, EZProxy. OpenAthens offers a more secure and reliable experience.
How will this affect library users?
The Principia College library migrated to OpenAthens starting on May 24, 2021. In most situations, the migration should be seamless for users. Faculty will need to update links to library resources embedded in Canvas to avoid broken links. Please see the "Updating Links" tab for detailed instructions, or try OpenAthen's automatic link generator tool.
